BSO Search For Answers In Hit-And-Run

LAUDERDAE LAKES (CBSMiami) – The Broward County Sheriff's Office is investigating a hit and run crash that left a pedestrian in the hospital.

The crash happened in the westbound lanes of Oakland Park Boulevard, just west of State Road 7 in Lauderdale Lakes around 1:30 a.m. Sunday morning.

Investigators said a 28-year-old man from Tamarac was struck by a dark-colored, mid-2000's Scion tC  in the far right westbound lane of Oakland Park Boulevard.

The man suffered from critical injuries and was treated on the scene then transported to Broward Health Medical Center.

The driver and the vehicle,that police say, hit the man have not been located.

Witnesses at the scene said that they saw the vehicle traveling westbound before the crash and then made a right turn onto NW 43 Ave., heading north into a neighborhood after the crash, according to traffic homicide detectives.
