Gunmen Try To Rob Business, Employee Shot In Scuffle

MIAMI (CBSMiami) – Miami-Dade Police robbery detectives have released surveillance video of an attempted robbery at a Dollar Store where two employees managed to fight back against their attackers.

The crime took place on November, 23rd at 1:18 p.m. at a Dollar Store located at 2173 N.W. 62nd Street.

According to detectives, two armed men walked into the store and demanded money from 31-year-old Josue Morales. As he retrieved the money, the gunman struck Morales multiple times with the barrel of the gun.

During the altercation, the second suspect actually ran out of the store.

When he bolted out, the first gunman became distracted and Morales was able to grab the gun.

However, as they fought over the gun, Morales was shot in the leg.

Another store employee, 20-year-old Roshawnda Shropshere, tried to help Morales and struck the gunman with a pipe.

He ran out of the store empty-handed.

Morales was transported to a nearby hospital, where he was treated and released.

Police released the video of the attempted robbery and altercation in the hopes someone might recognize the suspects.
