One Dead In Hollywood Head On Crash

HOLLYWOOD (CBSMiami) – One person is dead, three others injured after a head on collision.

The accident happened on Hollywood Boulevard between 57th and 58th avenues around 5:15 a.m.

Investigators believe one of the vehicles involved was going the wrong way which lead to the head-on crash.

"Investigators have not determined who was going the wrong way yet, but it appears somebody was going the wrong way," said Lt. Osvaldo Perez from Hollywood Police Dept.

Surveillance video from along Hollywood Blvd appears to show a vehicle going in the wrong direction, heading eastbound in the westbound lane at the time of the crash.

The three people inside the blue SUV and the driver of the silver car also involved were all taken to Memorial Regional Hospital where one of the injured died.

Police are checking nearby traffic cameras to see if they can determine who was going the wrong way, also checking to see if speed was a factor.  They will also speak to the survivors to see if they can fill in some of the gaps.

Police have not released the names of the injured or the person who died.
