Standoff With Felon In West Palm Ends Peacefully

WEST PALM BEACH (CBSMiami/AP) – Things ended peacefully, authorities say, after a convicted felon fired shots at bail bonds agents as they were trying to arrest him Friday night.

As bail bonds agents arrived at Kenneth Burroughs' home Friday night, Palm Beach County sheriff's officials say he shot at them.

Eventually, Burroughs came out of his home and was charged with aggravated assault with a firearm, felon in possession of a firearm, shooting with a dwelling, and child neglect. Burroughs, according to authorities, has several past felony convictions.

A search warrant of Burroughs' home allegedly turned up a shot gun, pistol and a revolver. Inside the home, authorities said several rounds of ammunition had been fired. Eleven shotgun shell casings were found throughout the residence.
