Local Miami Radio Host Offers Bounty On Seminoles Player

MIAMI (CBSMiami) – The Miami Hurricanes lost star running back Duke Johnson to a broken ankle during Saturday night's loss to the Florida State Seminoles. But at least one Hurricane sports talk radio host has taken things to a dangerous new level in the rivalry between the two teams.

Local radio host Dan Sileo from AM 640 Sports, took to Twitter Sunday morning and wrote the following: "in 6 weeks…I will PAY A $1000 BUCKS to ANY @hurricanesports PLAYER to TAKES THIS KID OUT #MHFREEMAN" (Emphasis his)

Sileo then posted a picture of the Seminoles player he wants injured, running back Devonta Freeman.

Miami has spent the last two and a half years under NCAA investigation and the school could do without such a bounty being offered. Other media members and fans of both sides on Twitter immediately chastised Sileo for posting such a bounty.

Sileo has since deleted the tweet and said he was only kidding.

640 Sports told the Associated Press' Tim Reynolds, "640 Sports is just as shocked and stunned as everyone else by this tweet." The station's executive producer, Marc Eisenberg told the AP the station is "still looking into the (Sileo) situation."
