FDLE Arrests Three People For Counterfeiting Body Armor

ORLANDO (CBSMiami) - Three people are under arrest for allegedly counterfeiting body armor.

The Florida Department of Law Enforcement in Orlando arrested the trio, identified as Scott Anderson, 57, Scott Williams, 51, and Arami Rodriguez, 36. All are from Ocoee, Florida.

All three were charged with one count of organized scheme to defraud and one count of counterfeiting body armor.

Investigators said the men sold the fake body armor at gun shows across Florida.

"These suspects sold dangerous products to unsuspecting consumers raking in large profits for themselves," said FDLE Orlando Regional Operations Center Special Agent in Charge, Danny Banks.

Ballistic tests conducted on the bogus product determined it provided no protection from bullets.

A customer complaint about the product prompted the investigation.
