Authorities tell CBS4 News it appears that the fire started in the kitchen area, but they do not have a cause of the fire.

A total of four people, two in the upstairs unit and two in the downstairs unit, will be displaced at least Monday night.

A friend of the couple whose dog died said the family is taking it hard.

“I told them, ‘You guys are alive. The smoke is an invisible enemy. You guys are alive. That’s the most important thing,’” said Alberto Alvesdasilva.
