Report: Marlins Screw Up Date On Souvenir Tickets
MIAMI (CBSMiami) – The Miami Marlins messed up quite a few things in the last few years. But you'd hope they could get the date right on the team's first no-hitter in Marlins Park, but you'd be wrong.
The Marlins began selling 9,100 unused tickets for Henderson Alvarez's no-hitter on Sunday for prices starting at $15 apiece. The Marlins have done this before when a Phillies pitcher threw a perfect game at Sun Life Stadium.
But, according to Deadspin.com, if you spent the money to buy one of the PDF's of the tickets, you got a ticket for a game on October 3, 2013, which is this Thursday. The actual date of Alvarez's no-hitter was Sunday September 29, 2013.
So in a way, the Marlins were selling tickets to a no-hitter because there is no Marlins game scheduled for Thursday.
