Durant Questions Wade As Top 10 Player; Wade Ready To Prove Him Wrong

MIAMI (CBSMiami) – Miami Heat superstar Dwyane Wade had a message for Oklahoma City Thunder superstar Kevin Durant on Instagram Tuesday night, "Note to self: Make him replace your place in history…again…"

The comment from Wade came after Durant told Cinesport.com that Houston Rockets shooting guard James Harden should replace Wade on SI.com's list of Top 10 players in 2014. Wade ranked eighth on the list and Durant believes that was too high.

"I think you're missing on James Harden," Durant said. When asked who Harden should replace, he didn't hesitate to say, "Dwyane Wade."

Durant responded to Wade's tweet with a tweet of his own that said, "Show me don't tweet me.."

The last time the Heat and Thunder were on the floor together in the 2012 NBA Finals; Durant watched as Wade and the Heat hoisted the Larry O'Brien trophy as NBA Champions after beating the Thunder in five games.

The popular theme on Wade for the last several seasons has been that he's lost a step and is not the same player he once was. Last year, Wade averaged 21.2 points, 5.1 assists, 5 rebounds, and 1.9 steals while shooting 52.1 percent from the floor.

Statistically speaking, Harden outplayed Wade averaging 25.9 points, 5.8 assists, 4.9 rebounds, and 1.8 steals while shooting 43.8 percent from the field. Still, harden was the only offense Houston had last year and he is also seven years younger than Wade.

Wade also has three things that neither Harden nor Durant have yet in their career, NBA Championships.

In case you were wondering, the Heat play the Thunder at the AmericanAirlines Arena on January 29th and in Oklahoma City on February 20.
