Police Release Name Of Bicyclist Struck On Broward Boulevard

FT. LAUDERDALE (CBSMiami) – Ft. Lauderdale police have released the name of one of the two men struck Friday night on W Broward Boulevard.

It happened around 8:35 p.m.

Frank Isaac Pais Munoz, 44, was heading east on Broward Boulevard in his Nissan Altima when he struck a pedestrian at NW 7th Avenue, according to police. The man fell backwards and struck his head on the curb.

The man died before help could arrive.

Munoz didn't know at first what he struck and decided to turn around find out. When he made a u-turn at NW 5th Avenue he struck 62-year Russell Franklin who was riding a bicycle, according to police. Franklin, who received minor injuries, was taken to Broward Health Medical Center.

Investigators did not observe Munoz to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
