MIAMI (CBSMiami) – The season is still a few months away, but your two-time defending NBA champion Miami Heat released its 2013 preseason schedule Friday.

The Heat will open the preseason in the AmericanAirlines Arena against Southeast division rival the Atlanta Hawks on October 7. The Heat will travel to Detroit for a game on October 10 and play the next night on October 11 in Kansas City, Missouri against the Charlotte Bobcats.

Miami will be on the road again on October 15 for a game in the nation’s capital against the Washington Wizards. Two days later, the Heat will travel to the Barclays Center in Brooklyn to battle the new look Nets.

The Heat have a NBA Finals rematch against the San Antonio Spurs on October 19 at the AmericanAirlines Arena. The Heat then go on the road for a game against the New Orleans Pelicans on October 23rd and end the preseason back home against the Brooklyn Nets on October 25.
