FSU Searching For New AD

TALLAHASSEE (CBSMiami) – Florida State University is searching for an athletic director after Randy Spetman unexpectedly resigned Wednesday.

Spetman, 59, is leaving the active job of athletic director, will stay with the school for the next eight months as a senior adviser to the athletic department. Spetman's contract expires in February 2014.

FSU president Eric Barron said associate athletic director Vanessa Fuchs would serve as the interim until Spetman's successor is found.

Spetman has been at Florida State in 2008 and was in charge when legendary long-time head football coach Bobby Bowden resigned after decades at the school.
