Gov. Scott Signs Death Warrant In Miami-Dade Murder

TALLAHASSEE (CBSMiami/NSF) – Marshall Lee Gore, who was convicted in the 1988 murders of two women in Miami-Dade and Columbia counties, will be put to death by lethal injection on June 24th.

On Monday Governor Rick Scott signed Gore's death warrant.

Gore will be executed for the murder of Robyn Novick, whose nude body was found in rural Miami-Dade County after being last seen leaving the parking lot of a tavern, according to a 2009 Florida Supreme Court ruling. Novick had been stabbed and asphyxiated.

Gore also was sentenced to death for the killing of Susan Roark in Columbia County, though Monday's death warrant does not stem from that case.

Gore, now 49, was arrested in 1988 in Paducah, Kentucky.
