S. Florida Fugitive Captured By U.S. Marshals
MIAMI (CBS4) – A South Florida fugitive profiled on CBS4's Fugitive Task Force has been apprehended.
U.S. Marshals caught up with Carl Laventure Tuesday night at a motel in Polk County. Laventure was wanted for raping a woman at knife point in Winter Haven in January. After the attack, he reportedly stole the woman's car which was found in Tampa.
In February, he was spotted on a bus, in a barber shop and on the streets of Pompano Beach.
Investigators said Laventure, who also used the name Danny Warmuth, worked as an unlicensed tattoo artist in South Florida before he moved on. He has previous convictions for homicide, felon in possession of a firearm and kidnapping, said U.S. Deputy Marshal Barry Golden.
