The event, sponsored by Key Largo’s MarrVelous Pet Rescues & Adoptions, was created to raise pet population awareness and facilitate stable dog adoptions. The adoptions were provided by several South Florida and Florida Keys rescue groups.

“Woofstock is a great event here in the Keys,” executive director of MarrVelous Pet Rescues and co-coordinator of Woofstock, Patricia Hann told the Florida Keys News Bureau. “It’s open to the public, people can come and visit, we have a ton of pet-friendly hotels in the area where they can come stay, bring their dogs to Woofstock, make a weekend out of it.”

Dozens of pooches were said to have “put their best paw forward” during the Rescue Me Mutt Strut and were able to find a home.
