PALM BEACH (CBSMiami) – For what seemed like a regular run to the grocery store turned out to be a scary situation for an elderly woman who was left “emotionally distraught” Tuesday evening in Greenacres.
According to police, the 86-year-old woman was walking around a Publix store around 3 p.m. When the woman turned away from her shopping cart to pick an item off of the shelf a man ran by and swiped her purse out of the cart, said a Greenacres police officer.READ MORE: Florida Records Highest One-Day Total Of COVID Cases With 21,000
As the man ran out of the store, a shopper began to chase him but the crook got away after he jumped into a stolen blue Kia.

About an hour later, Kenneth Jacob Toth, 29, and Gary Ellison Johnson, 42, were arrested.
