MIAMI (CBSMiami) – A boat was destroyed and another had major damage after a fire ripped through both at the end of a pier in the water near Brickell.

The Miami Fire Department had to call in help from a Miami Fireboat to deal with the flames that were shooting into the air.

The U.S. Coast Guard also responded to the scene to offer their help.

The fire broke out at the end of a pier near 1925 Brickell. The owner of the boats claimed that he was working on the engine of one of the boats and stepped away.

He told investigators that the fire started to grow uncontrollably and moved to the other boat as he attempted to extinguish it.

No one was injured in the fire, but one of the boats was destroyed and the other suffered heavy fire damage.
