Broward's New Year's Baby

FT. LAUDERDALE (CBSMiami) – South Florida welcomed its first baby of the new year shortly after the stroke of midnight on January 1st.

Seven pound, fourteen ounce Chloe Camp was born at 12:02 a.m. at the Chris Everet Children's Hospital in Ft. Lauderdale.

Jessica Wilson said her mother was with her in the delivery room cheering her on to deliver at midnight.

"I looked at the clock ten times it wasn't moving. Then it was 12 and the bell rung. I started pushing and she arrived at 12:02 and I only pushed two times," said Wilson.

A midwife delivered Chloe.

Wilson said baby Chloe and the rest of the family planned to spend New Year's day getting some much needed rest.
