HOLLYWOOD (CBSMiami) – Police investigated a deadly accident involving a man on bicycle Sunday morning in Hollywood.

The man, said to be in his early 50s, was riding his bike on N 66th Avenue when he was struck by a vehicle as he attempted to cross Taft Street.

The man, whose name has not been released, died on the scene.

“I couldn’t do anything for him, he was gone. I assure you he was gone the minute he was hit. The impact was so loud it was incredible. It was very, very loud,” said Luis Tirado.

The driver of the vehicle stopped and waited for police.

No word on if charges will be filed.
