Boynton Beach Theater Evacuated After Bomb Scare

BOYNTON BEACH (CBSMiami) – A 17-year old girl is being charged after she sent out bomb threat that caused a Boynton Beach movie theater to be shut down and emptied for several hours.

Chrislaina Jean Louis, 17, was an employee at the Boynton Beach Cinemark Theater at 1151 North Congress Avenue.

Jean Louis allegedly told police that a man handed her an online ticket receipt Sunday afternoon, according to the Sun-Sentinel. On the back of the receipt was a note that said that the man had a bomb, five guns and also intended to kill everyone in the theater and himself, said the police report.

Boynton Beach police were then called and the theater was evacuated.

According to the paper, the police searched for hours and nothing suspicious was ever found. Surveillance footage also failed to show any sign of the man who Jean Louis said supposedly gave her the note.

After questioning, police say Jean Louis admitted to writing the note herself . The police report did not give a motive.

Jean Louis was charged with threatening to discharge a destructive device.

The Sun-Sentinel has contributed to this report.
