Boynton Beach Theater Evacuated Over Bomb Threat

BOYNTON BEACH (CBSMiami) – A Boynton Beach movie theater complex was evacuated after someone threatened to set off an explosive device.

Late Sunday afternoon someone handed a movie ticket stub to an employee of the Cinemark Theater on N Congress Avenue. On the back of the ticket was a message threatening to blow up the theater, according to police spokeswoman Stephanie Slater.

The employee immediately brought the ticket stub over to a Boynton Beach Police Officer working a detail at the movie theater.

Unable to establish if it was a real threat or a hoax, the theater was evacuated.

Bomb sniffing dogs were then brought in to search the theater room by room.
