Georgia GOP Has Eyes On Allen West

WEST PALM BEACH (CBSMiami) – Former Congressman Allen West hasn't conceded the election to Representative-elect Patrick Murphy, but West may have another job lined up for him if he chooses to finally concede.

According to Politico, the Georgia Republican Party has invited West to run in the Peach State. Georgia GOP chairwoman Sue Everhart called West, "one of the finest congressmen this country's ever had."

While Murphy has been declared the unofficial winner in the Congressional District 18 race, West's campaign is threatening to sue. West has accused the St. Lucie County Supervisor of Elections of not following proper procedures on election night.

West lost to Murphy by more than 2,400 votes. A partial recount completed over the weekend showed the numbers were slightly better for West, but he still lost.

West is originally from Atlanta.
