Something Extra: Where Have You Gone Harry Potter?

MIAMI (CBS4) - Cleavage, heroin, class warfare and prostitution are all part of the year's most anticipated novel, which will be released worldwide on Thursday.

The author of this fantasy-free, risque, black comedy? None other than Harry Potter's J.K. Rowling.

Surrounded by super secrecy, reviewers have had to sign tough non-disclosure agreements and read the book at the publisher's office. But information about the novel has started to leak and there's no question "The Casual Vacancy" is written for adults, not Rowling's millions of young fans.

Set in an English town, the novel's name refers to a vacancy in a parish council after a member dies.

The question now is whether Rowling's legions of older readers will buy the book and enjoy the big departure from Hogwarts and Hogsmeade.

The first person to make a billion dollars by writing books, Rowling has said she's prepared to hear people say her first grown-up book is shockingly bad and that she should go back to writing about wizards. I'm looking forward to reading it, but having Rowling go back to wizards would a be a dream come true for me and most of her fans.
