Homestead Deaths Ruled Murder/Suicide

HOMESTEAD (CBSMiami) - The deaths of two people whose bodies were found in a Hialeah home have been ruled a murder/suicide by police.

"I can't believe it, I can't believe it, because these are the people you would see, neighbors you know," Jesus Liz.

Ra Thompkins said the couple, identified as 28-year old Patricia Nieto and 25-year old Fernando Martinez II, moved into the house at 13433 289th Terrace about a year ago.

"From the outside looking in, they seemed happy," Thompkins said.

Miami-Dade Police said Martinez's father went to the house Monday afternoon to check on his son when he didn't show up for work. That's when he found the bodies. Police said they died as the result of stab wons.

Neighbors said they never heard the couple arguing at the house and never saw police called here before.

Some furniture, including a bed headboard, and a suitcase have been in the front of the home since Saturday. Neighbors thought the couple was going to move.
