High Tech Grilling Tools Just In Time For Independence Day

MIAMI (CBS4) - It's the time of year when cooks head outside and grill up a storm.

Now, they can do that on the go with Cuisinart's Portable Roll-Away Gas Grill. According to Dan Ackerman at CNET, "It has a built in stand that folds down, and then you can just wheel the entire thing away. You can roll it down the street, or you can put it in the back of the car."

Keep the cook cool with the Sharper Image Barbecue Grill Light and Fan. Ackerman says, "The fans take the smoke and heat and move them away from you so that you can stand there right in front of the grill, and it's a lot more comfortable."

For something simpler, the Luma Tongs on Amazon.com light the way so you can cook your patties to perfection with the help of Brookstone's Talking Meat Thermometer. "You just plunge it right into whatever you're cooking, and you have a little receiver you take with you," says Ackerman.

For drinks, Opena's iPhone case doubles as a bottle opener, and the Cooper Cooler chills beverages in a snap. According to Ackerman, "You slip in a bottle of wine, or a bottle of beer, or a soda can, a little bit of water, a little bit of ice. Plug it in and hit start, and it will cool it down in three or four or five minutes."

For tunes, turn your grilling experience green with a solar powered Boombox by Eton Rukus or try Eco Terra's Waterproof Player. Ackerman says, "You can even put your iPhone or your iPod inside in a waterproof case and just toss it in the pool. It will actually float."

These products cost anywhere from $20 to around $230.
