Heat Fans Scramble For Last Minute Tickets To Game 3

MIAMI (CBS4) - It may have been one of the hottest tickets in town, but before game time Sunday, there were still a few seats available at the AmericanAirlines Arena for Game 3 of the NBA Finals.

Some court-side seats were selling for thousands of dollars but for fans who waited until the last minute, they didn't have to pay nearly as much to get a seat in the 100 level to watch the Heat beat the Thunder, 91-85.

Ed Ferrary decided to try his luck after he snagged a standing room only ticket during the Heat-Celtics series for $35. He expected to pay significantly more Sunday.

"$500," he said. "I know they're probably much higher than that. But i'm not going to shell out too much money."

Fan Ernie Brana and his girlfriend were looking for a pair of tickets in the 400 level.

"I came in 06," Brana said. "I paid 50 bucks and I got in at half time so maybe I'll get lucky again."

Brana ended up dishing out $412 Sunday for two upper level seats.

"I'm just in shock," Brana exclaimed. "We're in Miami and that's the only reason why there's tickets."

A fan visiting from Sweden, Jan Duvdahl couldn't believe his luck.

"Absolutely stunning," Duvdahl said after he purchased two tickets. "We're here on vacation so this is big for us, the NBA Finals. We'll tell all our friends from Sweden when we get back."

But some fans walked away empty handed, after Ed Ferrary hit the ticket jackpot!

"Last single seat at all," Ferrary boasted as he showed off his ticket. "First she said there's no more. I said, 'can you refresh it?' And she said, 'oh, there's one in the 100 level'. I said, 'really!' A little bit more but it's worth it."

After Sunday's win, fans definitely thought it was worth it.

Many plan to buy seats to games 4 and 5 in hopes of watching the Heat close out the series at home.
