Heat Fans From All Over Descend On Miami For Game 7

MIAMI -- Miami Heat fans descended from all over the world on the American Airlines Area to watch the Heat take on the Boston Celtics for game seven of the Eastern Conference Championship.

"This is just so great for Miami on so many different levels," said Miami Beach resident Marti Acosta as she stood waiting in line at the Triple-A for the big game.

Adam Breed drove to Miami from Coco Beach after scoring a seat just after tickets went on sale Friday.

"I was blessed to get a ticket," said Breed.

Hoping for that same run of luck was group of college students from Kansas who drove through the night to get to Miami in time for game seven.

"I think we realized we drove this far already so it was worth it, we were going to get in one way or another," said Kyle Williams who lives in Topeka, KS.

After failed attempts to finds seats through scalpers and other ticket sources, the group checked stubhub.com and scored standing room only inside the Triple-A.

"We're pumped, we're way up high, but we don't care, we're in the building," said Williams. "That's all that matters."

The group paid $125 dollars a piece for the tickets.

"It's amazing, I can't wait to see LeBron play, I really hope he drops 50 tonight, this is an historic night," said Ben Harrison who lives Topeka, KS as well.

Especially historic for Harrison and several of his friends who experienced their first NBA game.

Outside the arena CBS 4's Kara Kostanich spoke with fans from as far as Japan, Puerto Rico and the Cayman Islands who were not able to get tickets. Instead they spent the evening under the big screen that has become the front face of the American Airlines Arena.

"Even though we don't have tickets we're here to support LeBron James," said Marla Mattocks who traveled to Miami from Grand Cayman Island. "Go heat, we believe!"

The fans were rewarded with a nail biter win by the Miami Heat over the Boston Celtics 101-88. They're now looking forward to the NBA Finals where their team will take on the Oklahoma City Thunder.
