Danica Wrecks Again In Daytona Race

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (CBSMIAMI) — Danica Patrick rarely saw the winner's circle when she drove Indy cars and she won't see victory lane in her first NASCAR Nationwide race either.

Patrick wrecked in Saturday's season opening Nationwide race at Daytona International Speedway.

Patrick, who is known more for her good looks than her driving ability, didn't make it past lap 50 in the race.

Danica had started the race on the pole, which made her the first woman to win a NASCAR pole position since Shawna Robinson in 1994.

But on lap 50, JR Motorsports teammate Cole Whitt nudged her rear bumper and sent her spinning into the wall. Her frustration was evident from her radio chatter.

Patrick, a former IndyCar star who made the jump to NASCAR, also crashed on the final lap of a qualifying race for the Daytona 500 on Thursday. Neither accident she's been involved in were her fault.

Danica will be racing in the Daytona 500 Sunday as well.
