Swim Advisory For Several Broward Beach Areas Lifted

FT. LAUDERDALE (CBSMiami) – A water warning for several Broward beaches areas has been lifted.

On Friday, the county's health department advised beachgoers to stay out of the water in Hallandale Beach at Hallandale Beach Boulevard and A1A; in Hollywood at Custer and Harrison Streets and near the Dania Beach pier.

Samples of beach water collected at these areas did not meet recommended state requirements. All other beaches in Broward County tested satisfactory.

Certain bacteria could create unhealthy beach water conditions and may cause swimming-related gastroenteritis.

On Tuesday afternoon, the health dept. said advisory was canceled after the analysis of the latest water samples showed bacteria at acceptable levels.
