SUNRISE (CBS4) – The largest mall in South Florida is making it easier for shoppers to get ahead on their holiday purchases.

Sawgrass Mills Mall plans to stay open from 10 p.m. Thanksgiving Day until 10 p.m. Friday to give consumer 24 hours to snatch up all the Black Friday discounts and specials, according to the South Florida Sun-Sentinel.

“This is a major first for Sawgrass Mills and it is a great way to kick off the holiday season,” said Joellyn Fellmeth, director of marketing and business development in a statement. “An extra two hours of shopping translates into more great buys for our shoppers and more time for our retailers to cash in on the busy shopping season.”

The round the clock shopping experience is 2 1/2 hours longer than the mall stayed open last year. It was the first one to open it’s doors to the traditional Black Friday frenzy.
