MIAMI ( – Three Broward County schools saw their school day lengthened Friday after all three were put into lockdown.

Royal Palm Elementary, Endeavor Primary Center, and Lauderhill Middle were placed on lockdown around 2:00 p.m. due to a barricaded subject nearby.

The suspect was wanted for weapons violations, according to Captain Stanley of the Lauderhill Police Department.

Police apprehended the suspect a few minutes before 3 p.m. Royal Palm’s dismissal had been scheduled for 2 p.m. and Endeavor was set to end the school day at 2:15 p.m.

The students were never in any danger, according to Broward County Public Schools.
