Police Chase Comes To Crashing End In Hialeah

HIALEAH (CBS4) – A section of Red Road in Hialeah remains shutdown after a police chase ended in a crash Friday.

Red Road is shutdown from 18th to 21st streets in both directions.

According to Miami-Dade Police Det. Javier Baez, an officer was conducting a traffic stop at NW 46th Street and 25th Avenue regarding a narcotics investigation when the suspect tried to hit the officer's car.

The chase began from there and ended at West 19th Street and 4th Avenue when the suspect, driving a mini-van, T-boned a police officer's unmarked car.

The police officer, who was not seriously hurt, was taken to Hialeah Hospital for precautionary reasons.

Two people in the mini-van, a man and a woman were both injured in the crash and hospitalized. In video from Chopper 4, the man could be seen in handcuffs, face-down on the pavement before being treated for his injuries.
