FIU Baseball Loses Sun Belt Title Game

MONROE, La. (CBSMiami.com) – The Florida International Panthers came into the Sun Belt Tournament expecting to walk out with the Sun Belt Championship.

Sunday, they came up short against an Arkansas-Little Rock team that finished the season with a losing record.

FIU was the number 2 seed, but was still upset Sunday by a final score of 7-6. The teams were tied at 6 when the UALR Trojans scored on a FIU error to take a one-run lead.

With the win, the Trojans (24-32) secure the automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament while FIU (40-18-1) waits to see if they will be awarded an at-large bid.
