Emergency bus services will be made available for all residents living in an evacuation zone.
Once an evacuation order is given from the County Administrator all Broward County Transit (BCT) bus operations will end normal service and begin its evacuation plan. All regular bus stops along A1A and Federal Highway will serve as pick-up points for evacuees.
In the case of a category 1 or 2 hurricane (Evacuation Plan A), buses will pick up along A1A. In a category 3 or higher (Evacuation Plan B), bus pick-up points will include both A1A and Federal Highway bus stops.
All buses will be marked “Emergency Evacuation” on the head sign and those evacuating the area can flag down any BCT bus for pick-up.
Transportation services will be provided for persons with disabilities by the Broward County Transit Paratransit Services. Pre-registration is required. To pre-register contact the Broward County Human Services Department at (954) 357- 6385 (TTY 954- 357- 5608).
Evacuation services will continue for as long as weather permits, for more information on BCT emergency services Click here
