South Florida Offering Up Love On Monday

MIAMI (CBS4) - A romantic dinner for two will cost you on average about one hundred and fifty dollars. A dozen roses will cost you about sixty dollars.

"Spending time with that significant other, priceless" said Benjamin Johnson of Miami.

And South Floridians are gearing up to pay the price with many shelling out big bucks to celebrate Valentine's Day.

"We came here for his birthday and Valentine's Day," said Carolyn Smith.

She and her husband John flew in from Danville, Illinois to spend it on South Beach.

But you don't have spend big to show how much you care.

Chef and restaurant owner Alex Richter is setting the Mood at the Royal Bavarian Schnitzel Haus, from the decoration, right down to the table cloths and napkins.

"We've decorated and it's going to be dark, very romantic," Richter said.

And the price is right, $99 for dinner for two.

"For desert we're doing passion fruit ice cream, I'm using real rose petals," said Richter.

If it's flowers you love, Rio's Flowers and Pistols and Petals say they've got the best prices in town.

"For a dozen roses with arrangement and vase, $39.99," said Rio's Flowers owner Susy Orozco.

For all you procrastinators, Nelson Mendoza with Creative Design Productions said don't fret; he's got two roadside flowers stands and he's fully stocked.

"We're going to be busy Monday," Mendoza said.

And CBS4's Gwen Belton would be remise not to mention the gift for star crossed lovers. You can name a star after your someone special for $20.

The key to finding that special gift: sign up for e-mails from popular websites like LivingSocial.com and Groupon.com.

But Valentine's Day isn't just for couples; South Florida's night life has a variety of options where singles can mingle.

"Maybe, dinner, some drinks and hopefully we can meet some guys," said Rebecca Berry.

She and her sister Casey will have plenty of places to look for love. Several South Beach hotspots are throwing lovely hearts bashes through Monday.

And whether you're a couple or single, in love or looking for love, it's clear cupid has his arrow aimed right at South Florida.
