MIAMI (CBS4) — The national food truck phenomenon has taken Miami by storm. You may have seen them along Biscayne Boulevard or even West Kendall in their big, flashy food trucks serving up inexpensive but delicious gourmet dishes.

It’s the Tamiami Truckers Food Court, one of the largest and most popular gatherings where food lovers can tempt their tastebuds with help from a caravan of food trucks.

The Tamiami Truckers Food Court takes place outside of Lexus of West Kendall, located on SW 137th Avenue and 136th Street from 6:00 – 11:00 p.m. on Friday nights.

Bring your own lawn chairs or even a blanket because there aren’t any tables or chairs available.

On Saturday, the Truckers Food Court will dishing out their delicious meals in Wynwood, between NW 22nd Lanes and 22nd Street.

Mobile restaurants who provide their delicious mobile meal include Burger Beast, Wing Commander, MonTaco, Caza Crepes, La Camaronera’s Fish Box, Latin House Grill, Churromania, Grill Master Cafe, Slow Food Truck, Cheeseme, The Rolling Stove, Jefe’s Original Fish Taco & Burgers, Latin Burger, Ms. Cheezious, Sakaya Kitchen’s Dim Ssäm à gogo, and Feverish.

Ricky, you sound like a very angry person and while you are entitled to your opinion, it seems as though you are taking your english or non speaking enlgish issues out on the food truck movement. I know for a fact that most of these people, can not vouch for everyone of them, that they do a very good job of preparing the food. If they didn’t and people got sick they wouldn’t be so popular here and in other major cities across the U.S. For you to say rat turds are in something, you better have proof because not only is it wrong and unethical to say something you have no proof of, someone could problaby take legal action against you for false statements that impact their llivilhood.

Remember Ricky you can always choose not go go. By the way they do not serve alcohol at these events. They are not licensed. One other thing, with the turnout last night… I haven’t seem so many families together with their kids just having fun. That was what I saw that was so powerful. Kids families and friends laughing smiling and having fun!

Hey Ricky dont take out your impotence issues out on these people, you inbred bigot. This is a food related post so keep your racist innuendos to yourself, specially when hiding behind anonimity. Maybe you should go out to one of these events wearing your Klan hoodie and declare your stance on immigration reform while you’re at it.

I think that these trucks are at a large enough volume where the market will start taking care of things. For example there are 2 or 3 different grilled cheese trucks? I’m guessing more people are just going to start going to the truck with better taste and / or value. Case in point, there was an unspectacular churro truck early in the year (the old spot on Bird and 65) Food wasn’t that good..haven’t seen it anymore . Another was the subs truck..$6 for a 6″ sub twice the price of Subway.

In short, I do like the concept and some trucks are delish (I can think of a couple of the desser trucks and a pizza truck I saw at another of these rallies) but I think the scene is maturing enough where the novelty wears off and only the best trucks – not the ones that gouge on the novelty – are left .

OMG!!! I was at Lexus of Kendall for the food truck gathering last friday night, and I have to say it was FANTASTIC!!! After checking out each and every truck before making my selection, I finally went with the nachos from Naco Mamas and shaved ice with soft serve yogurt from Big Kahuna. WOW WOW WOW both were awesome. But by far my favorite looking truck was Big Kahuna. That truck was so cool and Joe the owner was just as cool. He was jam packed and still took a few seconds to take pics with my 3 kids. I also loved the little coffee cart. Divan, I LOVED IT!!!! So cute.

The food trucks I tasted at Lexus of Kendall last week were all incredible. I found a cool little tool that maps all the trucks in realtime so you can know what trucks are nearby you @
