Police Search For Robber Posing As Delivery Man

MIAMI (CBS4) - Miami police have released a sketch of a man they say roughed up and robbed an elderly woman in Miami's Flagami neighborhood.

Last Friday afternoon the man knocked on the woman's door and said he had a delivery from the pharmacy. The woman, who was expecting a delivery, opened the door and then saw that the medication in the man's hand was not what she had ordered. When she asked him about it, he said he had to use her phone to call the pharmacy to ask about the mix up.

The woman said she let the man into her home but as he grabbed the phone, he pulled some sort of electrical device out of his pocket and began to shock her. The woman's husband, who is bedridden, was in the living room but unable to help his wife.

After shocking her repeatedly, the man knocked the woman to the ground and ripped a gold chain from around her neck. The woman was able to grab a large pair of scissors and force the man out of her home.

The woman described the man as being 50 to 55 years old, 5'2" to 5'4", 180-200 lbs, with a big belly and thinning hair with receding hair line.

Anyone who recognizes the man is asked to call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at (305) 471-TIPS or send a text message to CRIMES and enter CSMD followed by the "tip".
