Hunt Continues For Gunmen In Deadly Shooting
MIAMI (CBS4) - The hunt continues for two men involved in a deadly shooting in northwest Miami-Dade Sunday night which ended the life a 22-year old woman and injured four other people.
Miami-Dade police said the two men they are looking for are brothers, David and Charles Johnson. Relatives of the woman who died said she was not the intended target in the shooting, which they said was motivated by jealousy.
Shenika Williams believes she was the intended target of the Johnson brothers. She said she and 28-year old David Johnson, who had just been released from federal prison, used to date but she had recently broken up with him.
"He was threatening for like a week. Threaten. Threaten. Nobody took him seriously because they always go through their little fights and stuff like that," said sister Tisha Williams.
When the Johnson brothers allegedly fired into a crowd of people in the 1900 block of NW 92nd Street it was Williams' sister Luvonia who died in a hail of bullets. Police said more than 40 rounds were fired in the shooting from two high powered assault rifles.
"My sister ain't mess with nobody, dog. She was going to school, my sister got a baby," said Shenika Williams.
Luvonia Williams left behind a one year old son.
The Williams family has made an emotional plea for the Johnson brothers to turn themselves in to police.
Anyone with information on their whereabouts is asked to call Miami-Dade police.
