Ponder Resumes Throwing For Noles

TALLAHASSEE (CBS4) - Florida State head coach Jimbo Fisher still doesn't know who is starting quarterback will be for the Chick-Fil-A Bwol next Friday. But, senior Christian Ponder finally started throwing the ball again on Wednesday.

Ponder has been sidelined for several weeks after having a second surgical procedure performed on his throwing elbow earlier in December.

The FSU quarterback for most of this season will also begin practicing Sunday with no restrictions on Sunday as the Seminoles go through their final practices before the bowl game against the South Carolina Gamecocks.

"From that day forward we'll go on a day-to-day basis on how I feel," Ponder said of starting to practice on Sunday. "Then the doctors make the call. If there is no risk to injury, then they will clear me."

Ponder has also been selected to play in the January 29th Senior Bowl in Mobile, Alabama. After an up-and-down senior season, Ponder will have to play lights out in the bowl game and really put on a show at the Senior Bowl to improve his draft positioning.
