Trip To Salon Got A Little Hairy

WILTON MANORS (CBS4) - A Super Cuts hair salon in Wilton Manors is going to need more than a just a little trim work after an elderly driver accidentally drove through the store's glass front.

It happened just before 1 p.m. in a strip shopping center at 80 West Oakland Park Boulevard. Wilton Manors police spokeswoman Alesia Furdon said a 79-year old woman was pulling into a parking spot in front of the Super Cuts when her foot slipped off the brake and hit the gas.

The woman's 2009 Mercedes jumped the sidewalk curb and plowed straight into the salon, luckily there were no customers inside. The store front, however, did receive severe damage

The woman, who was not injured in the crash, was cited for careless driving.
