Top Spots For Holiday Cocktails In South Florida

In what seems like two non-consecutive weeks of winter in the tropical climate of Miami, on that day or days, the weather gets cool enough to put on scarves, wool suits and great dresses to walk breezy streets. After the cool weather gets under one's skin, a holiday cocktail is the best remedy to warm the body. Different textures and tastes on the tongue bring on holiday cheer and evoke memories of past holiday memories. The cocktails also take on their own personality with their distinct names. Miami, as a tourist capital, has some fantastic locations where natives and tourists can put on their best-dressed wardrobe combinations and escape for a while with a great cocktail.

Walking into the Loews Hotel on Collins Avenue transports one to a different place that solidifies what is thought of as Miami Beach style--clean lines on furniture and lighting, fantastic views, different colors and a comfortable environment. The Lure Fishbar gives the customer or hotel guest the feeling as if they are on a private yacht on Miami Beach, where there are comfortable spots everywhere to sit and have a drink or eat a sumptuous meal. Taken from the hit cable series, "Boardwalk Empire," the Nucky Thompson cocktail delights with Apple Jack liquor and tingles with Peychaud's bitters on an Absinthe-rimmed glass.
