Miami’s skyline is growing and with it, places to view it – while you imbibe, of course. From downtown to South Beach, here are a few of the best rooftop bars and lounges in Miami.

The River Lounge is located on the ground floor of the Epic Hotel. The Lounge, with its well-mixed cocktails and specially chosen wines, offers a traffic-helicopter’s view of Biscayne Boulevard, the Bay and the Miami River. Surrounded by palm trees and outfitted with wi-fi throughout (if you must), this poolside lounge is a terrific place to watch the sunset and unwind from the workday or have a pre-dinner drink before hitting Area 31 (adjacent) or Zuma (in the lobby).

Around the block from the Epic, the Viceroy Miami, a beauty of a boutique business hotel, is located in the Icon Brickell residences. On the building’s 50th floor, check out the aptly named Club 50, where a pool reflects the night sky and an extensive bar and lounge allows partygoers some of the best views in the city – or at least from the highest distance. And the sights only get better after a couple of rounds.

Head up there for sunset or midnight cocktails and tidbits. It doesn’t matter what time you go – you’ll always find company. In Miami, Happy Hour is whatever you choose to drink. Oddly, though, just like in Manhattan, not a lot of folks take advantage of the pool.
