Texting And Driving
There’s a new killer in Florida, more dangerous than drunk driving. It’s already outlawed in 44 states but it’s still legal in Florida. It’s the “new” drinking and driving, known as texting and driving, but should it be outlawed in Florida?
Most kids know using a mobile phone while driving is a bad idea, but nearly 60-percent of high school seniors admitted in a recent CDC study that they text while driving. Now a new free app called DriveScribe is a game-changer. It takes the mobile phone and turns it from detractor into driving coach and rewards teens for safe driving.
If you’ve driven in South Florida, you’ve at one time or another been behind a person driving slowly and weaving as they try to send a text message. A new study found that the texters make driving even more dangerous for everyone.
