Operation Dry Water
As fourth of July weekend draws closer, authorities say they will be cracking down on boaters.
Boaters should expect to see extra law enforcement on the water cracking down on drunk boaters and other sea-faring safety violations over the Independence Day holiday weekend.
Boating under the influence, BUI, is a serious issue and continues to be a major problem across the nation. In an effort to raise awareness and crackdown on BUIs, local and nationwide officials will launch Operation Dry Water from June 28-30th.
A day on the water can be a lot of fun over the July 4th holiday weekend, but state and local enforcement agencies want all boaters to play it safe.
Boaters beware. The Coast Guard is out in force this weekend cruising the waters and administering sobriety tests as part of a national crackdown called “Operation Dry Water.”
