Miami Beach Flooding
The City of Miami Beach’s investment in new storm water pumps is paying off. Twice a year Miami Beach sees higher than normal tides, known as Spring Tides, which have flooded streets and parking lots in the past.
New storm water pumps in Miami Beach are expected to be operational just in time for extreme high tides this fall.
Grey skies Saturday morning gave way to strong moving storms by mid afternoon, and people in Coconut Grove, Miami, North Miami and Miami Beach reported quite a bit of flooding.
For a third day in row there were flooded streets in parts of Miami Beach, but there was nary a raindrop in sight.
