Florida Black Bear
For the second time over the past 8 days in north Florida, a black bear was killed after being struck by two cars.
Black bears are closer to being placed on the state’s wildlife hunting calendar for the first time in more than 20 years.
The state this October would open its first black-bear hunting season in two decades, under a set of rules that will be reviewed next week.
As the seasons change, more sightings of Florida’s largest mammal will likely be reported.
The Florida black bear is no longer deemed a endangered species.
