FCAT Writing Scores
Just 24 hours after the state of Florida decided to lower standards to allow more students to pass the written part of the FCAT; the Miami-Dade School Board is debating whether the FCAT is setting expectations correctly or is too hard.
The preliminary results of the latest round of Florida Comprehensive Assessment Tests didn’t exactly make the grade. The state’s Board of Education has scheduled an emergency conference call for Tuesday to discuss reducing the passing grade.
The first round of FCAT scores will be released Wednesday giving South Florida schools a chance to see how students did on the writing portion of the Florida Comprehensive Assessment Test.
