The Miami-Dade Commission on Ethics and Public Trust today approved a settlement Wednesday with Miami City Commissioner Frank Carollo.
The Miami-Dade Commission on Ethics and Public Trust (COE) held a public hearing Tuesday after the COE found probable cause last November that Miami City Commissioner Frank Carollo “exploited his official position” during a traffic stop.
The chief financial officer for the City of Miami has been fired and her replacement has been named.
A pair of Miami commissioners and a mayor have been cited by the county’s ethics commission for violations.
Commissioners were steaming, less than a day after learning that Miami finished the fiscal year with a budget surplus of some $45 million. That’s a figure nearly six times what managers had previously reported.
The building, located at 1651 NW 3 Street in Little Havana, was leveled as part of the Clean Sweep Program. A city official said it’s part of a bigger plan to revitalize the area near the new Marlins ballpark.
