As expected, what was briefly Tropical Storm Franklin lost it’s tropical characteristics in the North Atlantic west of Bermuda Saturday evening, and is now what forcasters refer to as a ‘post-tropical cyclone’.
The National Hurricane Center is watching Tropical Depression 6 which formed Friday afternoon just north of Bermuda.
Another day and another round of strong storms for South Florida. In Broward County, there were numerous reports of wind gusts between 40 and 50 mph as the storms rolled in this afternoon.
The fifth named storm has formed in the Caribbean, according to the National Hurricane Center.
The National Hurricane Center says Tropical Storm Don has formed in the southern Gulf of Mexico and is moving toward the coast of Texas. It is the 4th named storm of the season.
The third tropical storm of the season, Cindy, formed Wednesday evening in open Atlantic waters.
There is a chance for strong to severe storms into early Wednesday morning.
