“The Frank” is part of the new Pembroke Pines City Center, which opened in April.

It’s a two-story gallery, named after the city’s mayor, Frank C. Ortis, with the goal of bringing art into people’s lives.

We talk to its chief curator about what sets it apart from other art galleries.
